Supplies: Making the Team: Wall of Fame, Borders, Alpha + Bits, Just Write Journaling Stickers Designer Tape: Pickle Juice Dot, Red Dot, Teal Stripe

In order to create some depth on my layout I first punched 3 large stars from the black card stock. Using a marker, I then traced the stars onto the base paper {Wall of Fame} so I knew right where to add the designer tape stripes. Add the black card stock back over top & you have a unique look for your stars. A simple technique that can be used with multiple punches and a variety of tapes or paper stripes!

{small town usa...jbs june sneak...

I've got a sneak into the June Jenni Bowlin Mercantile kit. It's full of Wren...the newest Jenni Bowlin release & the perfect mix of red, white, & blue with a sprinkle of stars. Photobucket

The Studio Calico wood veneer stars were one of my favorite things from this months kit - I even used the packaging as part of my design. I was able to run them through my Xyron X which made them really easy to use like confetti. Love that little machine!

{50% off stamps at Jenni Bowlin Studios!!!

The Jenni Bowlin design team is continuing to choose & use our favorite stamps throughout this month. I chose one of my favorites, the Silhouette stamp, which just happens to be 50% off this month. Only $2, for real!!!

Photobucket

I grabbed a ton of different goodies from my JBS stash and went to work layering and playing.
I started by using a variety of the journaling cards into a "grid" style. Which by the way is a fun new challenge going on right now! Check it out now on the forums!

The Alterable Alphas were perfect for the large title I had in mind.

For the stamped images I used the Fountain Pen ink pad and stamped the images on the new Die-Cut and Perforated Papers - Stamp...one for each of my kiddos.

What have you stamped lately?

{bella blvd + twinery team up...day 3....

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

For the "rainbow-cloud" I took a piece of white card stock, covered the front side with adhesive & glue dots and began wrapping the twine around it. I then added a layer of dimensional pop dots to the top and added another piece of white card stock with the cloud punched out.
This is such a versatile technique!
Change the punch and the twine colors and you can get a whole new look!
Have fun with it!

{bella blvd + twinery team up day 2....

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Supplies: Finally Fall: Quadrants, Bliss, Cute Cuts, Just Write Journaling Stickers Baby Girl: Alpha + Bits Stickers Designer Tape: Teal Stripe Sophisticates Ciao Chip: Clouds Sophisticates High Five Alphabets: Pink-Red, Yellow Button Market: Pink Flora {backside}, Wood Mix, Fruit Punch, Aqua Flowers, Stars Twinery: Caribbean

The Caribbean colored twine quickly became my favorite color so I decided to use that as the base of my color scheme. With a touch of pink & yellow it was perfect with this picture of Ella from her second birthday shoot. I looped the twine through the button and continued it off the page on both sides. I then sewed over it to help keep it in place. I'm not sure I'm in love with the look of that, but it's something different and it's always fun to try something new. Using a dimensional dot I popped up the cupcake sticker and again tied it with the Peapod twine.

{bella blvd + twinery team up...

What a fun team up this was to be a part of!
I could totally get used to adding twine to my projects. It's such a fun accessory!

Supplies: Spring Flings & Easter Things: Borders, Cute Cuts, Alpha + Bits, Chipboard Icons, Flags Designer Tape: Yellow Chevron, Pickle Juice Dots, Pink Stripe Button Market: Wood Mix, Fruit Punch Floral: Flags Sophisticates Ciao Chip: Borders Twinery: Caribbean, Lemondrop

Twine is the perfect accessory to buttons! I took two of the little buttons from the Wood Mix & added a splash of color by simply tying twine through the holes. I also accented a journaling tag from the Cute Cuts page by tying twine around the top.

{a feathered memory...BG PB&J...

I’ve had the idea of incorporating feathers onto a page for some time now & this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Using the variety of patterns in the PB&J collection I was able to create fun & unique hand cut feathers. The circles from the die cut paper and canvas flowers, along with the centers of the chipboard letter stickers created a fun confetti feel.

{a flair for buttons...design team call...

Many of you know that I am a huge fan of Shelley Haganman's photography as well as her scrapbooking & most recently her etsy shop: a flair for buttons.
I was lucky enough to have Shelley capture my crazy little family last fall & it was such a wonderful experience.
She has an etsy store where she sells her photography as well. I happen to have a few peices of her wonderful art - one of which hangs in my kitchen. I LOVE it!

Back to the flair design team call: I darn near flipped when I saw this via facebook!

Design Team Call! I have been thinking about this for some time now. I am quite busy with work, my family, and my etsy business. I don't have a lot of extra time to create and share my projects using my flair buttons. So I am looking for scrappers, cardmakers, project makers, etc. who would be interested in being on my design team. I would like to keep it pretty simple. I would send you free product and in exchange I would like you to post on your blog your creations and send pics to me so I can post them on my flair blog. I would ask for posting just about twice a month or more often if you would like. It would also require putting a blinkie on your blog and promoting my flair etsy shop with others on forums and on your blog. Please send me your email address as well as your blog address if you are interested in joining! I am looking for 4-6 people for a time period of 6 months. I am excited about this and hope you will consider joining my team! I will take applications until May 15th. Please email me at: kidsmom1999@yahoo.com

Here are a few samples:

Good luck ya'll!

{a nsd challenge with basic grey...

If you're like me, you have a nice little stash of papers and supplies that have long been retired. You know the ones: you just can't get rid of them, cause you know you'll need them someday.
Today, I challenge you to dig into that pile! Pull out your favorite "vintage" Basic Grey goodies and create something fabulous. I had the 6x6 Obsure paper pack & die cut shapes since I went to my first Scrapbook Expo in Chicago way back when.
This collection has always been one of my favorites by Basic Grey & I was really excited about getting it out once again.

Head on over to the Basic Grey Blog for a bunch more fun challenges + a view at my full layout!
Happy National Scrapbooking Day my talented friends!

{my scrap space...

Happy National Scrapbook Day!
We're celebrating over at Bella Blvd by sharing our scrapbook spaces as well as our favorite layouts! Be sure to check out all the details over there.

Welcome to my scrap space. It's certainly nothing fancy. No Ikea anything, but it's my place to escape and create and I love that!

In the above photo:
-The yellow chair that used to sit in my grandparents dining room - every once in awhile it gets to go on a photoshoot with me.
-The desk, we bought for $5 at a yardsale {it had been sitting in an hold horse barn for years}. My hubby & I sanded & stained it. It's huge and I love it!
-My drafting table where I scrapbook was a gift from Aaron when we were dating. I was taking graphic design classes at our local college at the time.
-I bought the paper tower when my local scrapbook store closed this last year. It was such a wonderful store, so I'm glad I have something that makes me think of the friends I made there.

In the above photo:
This is my sewing station.
-The cupboard I saved from being burned at a job my dad was working at. Gotta love free furniture!
-My tower of Stampin' Up! inks from when I was a demonstrator a few years back. I really need to donate those. I haven't used those in such a long time.
-Mason jars full of sewing thread and old stamps.
-Bowls full of misc sewing goodies and flair buttons by shelley haganman.

And last but not least:
This old trunk & wire basket was also from my grandparents house. The basket holds all of my punches and the truck keeps my Bella Blvd goodies organized.

And for my favorite layout I chose my I Heart Summer layout that I created for the Bella Blvd CHA booth. You can also view it in the catalog HERE.
